Oklahoma has the most restrictive ballot access laws in the United States. Every four years Oklahoman’s are given only two options on their ballot for President. Compare this with the super-majority of states which typically have more than four candidates on their ballot. The two largest third parties in the United States, the Green Party and the Libertarian Party, both have been denied ballot access in Oklahoma. However, both parties are running candidates which are on enough state ballots to, hypothetically, win the election. Why are Oklahoman’s being deprived of the democratic process?
